When I was 20 years old I was still in university, living at home, and most definitely not featured on HypeBeast, Sneaker Files, or Slam x Hype, let alone was I aware of their existence. Thankfully, there are other lights burning brighter in this world like 20 year-old New Zealand artist and student Jacinta Conza who has been continually curating a dope portfolio of designs and illustrations.
Her ‘My First Number Book – For Little Sneakerheads’ has captured the attention of the streetwear community and it’s undoubtedly only a matter of time before it gets picked up for major publishing. The watercolor illustrations of OG Jordan styles I-X are right on point and the clever use of shoe laces and sneaker packaging are innovative ideas, especially for a children’s book. Truth be told, as someone who is new to the sneaker game, I even found this book highly informative.
Check out Jacinta’s project here and some more of her awesome work on Behance like her Tyler, The Creator woodcut.
