Each day in October brings with it the promise that Banksy will leave his mark on some new part of New York. Even though most people take weekends off, Bansky does not, so today we’re playing catch-up by bringing you the double-feature of weekend Better Out Than In street art installations.

October 5th

On Saturday, Banksy unveiled a mobile art installation: a New York delivery truck with the back converted into a mobile garden complete with a rainbow, working waterfall, and butterflies. In expected Better Out Than In fashion, the call-in number for the audio guide is on the side of the truck and features the usual tongue-in-cheek clever/bogus art commentary. The truck will move to a different location every day at dusk so keep an eye around NY for it.

For Sunday’s installation, Banksy flipped the script on us and instead delivered a video on Youtube. The video features some rebels in the Middle East firing a rocket at an unknown target in the sky. We watch as the rocket hits the target and then it falls from the sky. Once it lands near the rebels, it turns out to be Dumbo the elephant. Unlike his previous posts, Banksy doesn’t provide any description or audio commentary for this piece so perhaps we’ll see it again in another form? Check it out below:
