This week, our good friends at The Kinara Life Project hooked us up with some hot new pieces from their upcoming drop ‘The Peacemaker Society’ for us to ogle and review. Once we finished fighting over who got what we looked into what Kinara is all about.
Founder Mike B. is on track with a positive brand message that he wants to inspire a different perception of streetwear and lend itself to a bigger movement and lifestyle. Here’s what he had to say:
“[I] conceptualized a brand that sought to combat violence in urban communities through artistic expression, and promote positive lifestyles within those who want more without a means to get it. [I] wanted to give a voice to those who want to break the cycle of violence, and inspire hope in people for people.”
The looks draw on these themes and bring some freshness and perspective to this scene.
We love guns, girls, and green as much as the next guy but it’s refreshing to see someone glorifying positivity, community, and expression and Kinara is right on point. Here at the Dopamine36 office we can’t get enough of the camo print street soldier design and the other looks they sent us. The quality of the shirts is top notch, soft medium-weight cotton, with tight printing and color. See for yourself and be sure to check out the lookbook they just shot on youtube.
We can definitely appreciate the thought and message Mike has put into this line and think it shows in his work. We’re all looking forward to seeing the whole collection so follow our man Mike B. on twitter, and keep your eyes locked on their web page so you can be the first to grab these styles. Thanks to Mike and Kinara for the love!
