The sneaker world is filled with all kinds of crazy collabs, and Vans certainly has a lion’s share of them, but sometimes you get collabs that go beyond some different colors or a new fabric. For their Vans collab, Philly-based streetwear shop UBIQ went outside the box and outside the continent to make something special. They traveled to Japan where they hit up Three Tides Tattoo Shop and enlisted the incredible talents of their artist Hiroshi Hirakawa to bring flip the script on traditional Japanese tattoo art. The result are some super dope designs on Vans’ classic SK8-Hi LX and Era LX silhouettes and packaging. Both kicks feature a samurai on a Vans cargo ship confronting a mountain dragon looming in the sky. Check it out below and shop it starting November 8th at the UBIQ shop and online.
