It’s all thanks to Daniela’s review that I read this, so I hate to copy her by starting my review the same way, but this book had possibly the greatest opening I’ve ever seen: The average life expectancy for a Hell Diver … Weapon perks add specific stats that make playing harder difficulties a more realistic task. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers—men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need. That is the motto of the Hell Divers who risk their lives to dive to the earth's surface to scavenge for parts to keep their last two surviving airships in the air. You mostly fight alien like creatures, which could be considered scary but, once again, nothing too crazy. If you’re a Magicka fan, you are going to feel right at home diving into HellDivers. It's mindless and action driven but sometimes that suits me just fine. You too, controlling sparkly vampire. Helldivers might be fun for dedicated old-school arcade fans, but the inconsistencies keep it from being enjoyable for most players. Unable to live on the scorched and radioactive surface, the last of humanity, around 1000 people, is divided between two airships which have been flying for far longer than their original designers intended.
It’s simply a gorgeous treat to play through. The game also boasts a rather useless map, which makes it difficult to figure out exactly where you're supposed to go, while the Vita version uses the back touchscreen in awkward ways.
