I’ve NEVER seen vegan pepperoni that doesn’t have wheat gluten in it, EVER.

I simply crumbled the topping into “sausage” and it was still tasty. ?‍♀️ …..taste is incredible though!! Wow Brenda … I love this extra mile! Was wondering if these HAVE to be refrigerated after they are baked? And if palm sugar is sourced via the same route as palm oil it’s not exactly a good thing anyway. Boosted the amount of paprika a smidge, added some turmeric and a bit of maggi seasoning. * I use a wine bottle rather than a rolling pin to roll as the flat end allows you to get it rolled right up to the edges and back for a huge rectangle pizza.

Will definitely make this every time we make pizza. I added just a little more pepper flake than called for. I’ve played with vegan bacon recipes, but THIS is just over the top exciting!

Does anyone think this would work? The biggest problem is I couldn’t get them off the wax paper. There are multiple vegan pepperonis available now if you don’t have time to cook – I know I’m in that boat a lot of the time too! Including but not limited to peanuts and chickpeas. The humble pizza goes gourmet and crave-worthy. The flavors are there but mine were brown and not the beautiful color in the photos. With no success finding vegan pepperoni at the market or online( always sold out!?!? I make my own homemade A1 substitute.

I didn’t use any liquid smoke, A1, oil and only a smidgen of sugar. Gave the pizza that extra something! Or, you can buy vegan jerky. I modified the spicing a bit to make it more similar to Hungarian sausage, but it’s great. even my meat eating husband loved it. Otherwise this recipe is a keeper. Am going to try! Needed to add 2 TBSP. WOW!

Oiling the parchment slightly prior to baking helps.
You’ll know they’re ready when they’re deep red in color and slightly crisp to the touch. I noticed many others commenting about the color of their pepperoni. I don’t know where you live Gordon but it seems very restrictive.
